OUTRAGE

The last game that my Mother, who loved to play any type of game, gathered friends about the now abandoned bridge table to play.....
The object of the game is to outmaneuver your opponents, be the first to break into the Tower of London, steal as many of the Crown Jewels as possible, then escape, as competitors continue try to steal from you, the jewels that you have stolen from others...thus surpassing 1671's unsuccessful attempt by Thomas Blood....
I did not play the game for some time, because the game brought up memories of my own Jewelry Store having been repeatedly attacked by criminals.... Anyway.....the game is fun and the "pieces" are lovely........like the little pewter racing car in "Monopoly".

DELTA WATCH

This reminds me of "Yellow Submarine".....
When you press the tail fins, a watch emerges
from the cockpit.......

NATIVITY SCENE

these characters, which spend most of the year atop my Great-aunt Florence's old, painted art noveau wall clock, are being cleaned up for x'mas, when they will be utilized in a makeshift manger scene.........Betty Boop as Virgin Mary; the Wiseman, above, King Kong and Faye, the Flying Witch and Alien Santa will join other playful characters with a yet-to-be-chosen-to-play Baby Jesus.......i have a black picaninny doll that may work.......the only rule: the figures must have been gifts from friends.......no one has given me a Jesus......no!! wait.......I just remembered that I have a "Jesus Action Figure" somewhere in the basement.......great!! A get-it-done type for this year.........I won't have to use the Memling postcard again......

LITTLE HUMMEL PANEL

A DETAIL FROM A LITTLE HUMMEL STAINED AND PAINTED PANEL THAT I FOUND IN A CLOSET AFTER MOTHER'S DEATH.......I HAD A FASCINATION WITH TELESCOPES AND BINOCULARS, AS A CHILD.........THE CORNY SENTIMENTALITY OF THE LITTLE PANEL CONTRASTS WITH THE ROW OF
TIBETAN "DEVILS" THAT FLANK IT..........

PRIAPRISMATIC SATYR

A DETAIL FROM A PLATE THAT I ACQUIRED
AT A PORCH SALE AROUND THE CORNER.
I RELISH UTILIZING IT WHENEVER A PRUDISH
FRIEND IS VISITING.....HARDLY A MUSEUM PIECE,
BUT AMUSING AND CHILDLIKE, IT IS GREAT FOR
SERVING GRAPES.........

THE SPINNING CRYSTAL GOLF BALL

another junkstore find.........a crystal orb that spins, effortlessly upon a crystal base........
it looks great upon a black, illuminating base, or just relecting the room.......I think it
is supposed to be a presentation crystal golf ball...

CLOTHES PIN DOLLS

garage sale clothes pins, old tubes of acrylic paint, old 70's sequins......
turn into seasonal ornaments.....i found a ten foot tall "fake" tree that was
used in a Neiman-Marcus window display............an old yard-sale set of
bubble-lights and a '40's paper angel with.............wait.....I don't have room
for a tree! Actually, I've never set up a Christmas tree since I surprised my
family, in 1956 with an aluminum tree with a color-wheel......they were horrified!

JOHN AND OKO

YOU PURCHASE THE ALBUM.....YOU GET THE PICTURE! I STILL HAVE THE 'LITTLE GOLDEN RECORDS' AND AN AUTOGRAPHED COPY OF "HOUND DOG" THAT I GOT IN 1955 AT AN ELVIS CONCERT IN FAYETTEVILLE, TENNESSEE.......ON AN OUTING FROM DUNROAMIN CAMP.............UNFORTUNATELY THE ANNIE LIEBOWITZ PHOTO, HERE CROPPED, WAS NOT AVAILABLE AS A FREEBIE.....

1st National Bank Rocket

Fittingly enough, from a bank in Rocket City U.S.A. I opened an account, in the 50's, and received this nifty metallic silver bank......one places a coin into restrainers, pulls back a spring-loaded mechanism, presses the red button and voila!.....the coin is shot into the bank's inner chamber.....I have never opened the rocket, though it is filled with coins.....silver coins! a fun way to save.........
