I'M WAITING FOR THE TRICKLE-DOWN.........
I'VE ALWAYS LIKED HIGH-TECH, FROM THE INSTALLATION OF PUSH-BUTTON WALL SWITCHES WITH INTERCHANGEABLE BACKPLATES THAT I INSTALLED IN MY PARENTS' HOUSE IN 1959.......TO INSTALLING AN OLD BAKELITE RADIO AS A REPLACEMENT FOR A DRAWER IN MY DESK, PLACING A POLE LAMP NEXT TO MY BED, WHICH WAS FLANKED BY WHITE PLASTIC JAPANESE LAMPS.........PERHAPS THIS WASN'T AS UNUSUAL IN HUNTSVILLE, HOME OF HUNDREDS OF PHYSICISTS AND AEROSPACE ENGINEERS...............I HAVE UTILIZED COMPUTERIZED LIGHTING AND THERMOSTATS FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS, AND MY DREAM HOUSE IS A HOME LIKE BILL GATES; HOWEVER, I MUST WAIT FOR THE TECHNOLOGY PRICE-DROP!

REDISCOVERED UTILIZATION
This Edwardian Sugar-caster top languished in a drawer for many years after the old cut crystal sugar container had been broken.......It finally occurred to me to use the beautiful pierced silver top as a biscuit and cookie cutter, a purpose for which it is perfectly suited.........

WHY ME? IT WASN'T ON MY 'WANT' LIST, FOR SURE!

A friend gave me this "shooting device"......although it does bring out the angry "me"....you're looking at the only time I've expressed any interest in the thing....(to take a photograph).I'll give it to an angry young man.....no, wait!....he'd probably use it! I'll just toss it in the dumpster behind the post office.....no, wait! It's for paint balls! Hmmmmmm....no, not even that...that's pretty disgusting, too!

NIGHTFALL
Last evening, a friend and I rushed to Agnes Scott's Bradley Observatory for an anticipated Klimchak performance with Celestial Light Show....After a GPS misinterpretation, we scurried through the brisk, cold, dark night. I ahhh'd at the details of the moon as obscurring clouds moved away to reveal the almost-full silver orb, my companion nervously upping our pace, watching our footwork and my typical lolly-gagging about, as we arrived just in time. Unfortunately, Klimchak's MYSPACE page had listed the wrong time......This journey was not a lost opportunity, for as we searched for a parking place outside the Observatory, I came across a stack of worn and discarded posters, choosing the one shown above as a consolation.....and an image for this blog.....my friend was distraught and angry, then depressed by having missed the performance......had she noticed the Moon, I wondered.......the "half-full"/"half-empty" perspective.....

the Erchonia Healing Light Laser Device
I traded a thoracic lung pump that I bought at an antique show 25 years ago for another strange device that I had never heard of.......I'm more likely to utilize this machine than the lung pump which was, although as beautiful as a Leica camera, not very useful in day to day living. Maybe I can trade this for some sessions with my Chiropractioner . The device can be used to reduce scar tissue and promote the healing of burned tissues, muscle strains and can reduce fat in tissues.......neato!
THE MEDICAL CLAIMS FOR THIS TYPE OF DEVICE:
* Relieves acute and chronic pain
* Increases the speed, quality and tensile strength of tissue repair
* Increases blood supply
* Stimulates the immune system
* Stimulates nerve function
* Develops collagen and muscle tissue
* Helps generate new and healthy cells and tissue
* Promotes faster wound healing and clot formation
* Reduces inflammation

well...pretty much "maintenance-free" anyway

The latest addition to my watch collection is an Eco-Drive....The power is stored by a "revolutionary" lithium-ion rechargeable battery which can store enough energy, from just being exposed to any kind of light, to power the watch for up to four years.
It's intelligent too - if the watch is kept in the dark for a long period, it switches to a sleep mode to conserve energy, with the second hand parking itself at the 12 o'clock position; then, as soon as the watch is exposed to light again, the second hand whizzes across the dial to the correct time and begins to run again.....

SWEDEN'S GOT TALENT
The Swedes still make us Americans seem repressed and prudish, don't they..........? With total nonchalance, they disarm our repressions and high seriousness about nudity and sexuality.......
